Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day Parades in Spilsby

Armistice Day in Spilsby, 2015

Every late October to November 11th, the Spilsby Branch of the Royal British Legion is responsible for running the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal in the district and the Remembrance and Armistice Day parades. The Armistice takes place at the Spilsby Sir John Franklin Memorial, forming up at 10.45am on November 11th for the Last Post and two minute silence at 11am, followed by a visit to the town cemetery to lay wreaths on the servicemen's graves there. Remembrance Sunday parades form up at the Butter Cross car park in Spilsby at 10.15am for the march to the Church, the service of remembrance and the laying of wreaths at the war memorial.

Spilsby has an active RBL branch which meets every third Wednesday of the month at the Nelson Butt pub at 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend and join us at our monthly meetings and at our public events. Anyone interested in helping to sell poppies should contact Poppy Organiser, Michael Lenton at mican128@btinternet.com
